"I cannot express how much I enjoyed today's trip down the Rio Grande. It's amazing that such a peaceful and beautiful experience can happen right in our own backyard . . . Without a doubt, I will share my experience with not just corporate clientele, but my friends and family."

Featured in the Fall, 2012 Issue of Group Tour Western Magazine (begins on page 56), Quiet Waters Paddling Adventures has rapidly become among the most popular options for Albuquerque-area group outings. We've entertained scouts, schools, churches, active seniors, corporate outings, conventions . . . all to rave reviews. Whatever your group is about, we'd love to talk with you about a Rio Grande paddling adventure! As one member of a youth soccer team group told his buddy in the summer of 2010, while floating through one of the small rapids during a Coronado Adventure . . . “This is way better than Cliff's!”

Group rates begin with as few as 12 adults, and with our current selection of canoes and kayaks, we can accommodate over 50 people on the water at any given time, not including younger kids who might float along with an adult.

As long as we have reasonable notice, we can generally work group outings around our existing float schedule. Please call to discuss your options!

Scout Groups

Paddling has always been integral to scouting programs, and the middle Rio Grande is an ideal river for scouting adventures. Although close to Albuquerque, the protected bosque and extensive pueblo lands provide a remarkably remote river experience. Whether you're looking for a day trip though the bosque, or want to do an overnight adventure with camping at Coronado Campground in Bernalillo, we can work with your group to customize a float trip that will exceed your expectations. If you're interested in exploring lakes or rivers further from home, please call – we can help put together anything from day trips to multiple day paddling and camping trips. We can also help with merit badge requirements or conservation projects. Just call with your ideas, and we'll help make it happen!

Schools

As one of the last remaining riparian ecosystems in the southwest (estimates of the loss of native southwestern riparian habitat range from 85 - 98%), the Middle Rio Grande Bosque is a tremendous educational resource for teachers and students. We're well versed in the ecological challenges faced by the bosque, and can provide a fun, interpretive experience for your group. Floating through several miles of bosque provides great opportunities to encounter the many varieties of plants, birds and animals that make the Rio Grande home. Incorporating a tour of the Coronado State Monument can easily be included, given their location on the banks of the Rio in Bernalillo.

Corporate Events

Whether you're looking for a unique team-building concept or just a fun-filled recreational outing, floating down a gentle river is an excellent activity to enhance your team's physical and mental health. We'll coordinate with event planners, caterers and other service providers to plan an event customized to your needs.

Outdoor Clubs

Audubon Society groups, Sierra Club chapters, nature clubs and wilderness groups will love the experience of the Middle Rio Grande. The gentle nature of the river allows time to take in the wilderness and scenery of the Rio Grande valley, while the variety of bird life is stunning. At various times throughout the year, the Rio is home to numerous varieties of ducks and geese, heron, egret, various raptors, shorebirds and countless songbirds. (On a single trip in September of 2010 we encountered black-necked stilt, American avocet and white-faced ibis). Beaver, muskrat and coyote are also frequently encountered, and the high desert vistas and mountain views are breathtaking.

Church and Temple Groups & Fellowships

A fun-filled, family-friendly outing on the Rio Grande may be just the thing for your youth group, singles or couples groups, active seniors group or family activities. Let us customize an outing for you that will be appropriate and memorable for your members!

Active Seniors, Birthday Parties, Bachelorette Parties, Class and Family Reunions, Youth Sports Teams . . .

Or even just a “Girls Night Out”! Whatever your group is about, a float trip on the Rio will make for a special and unforgettable event. We'll customize a tour especially for you, and can incorporate anything from a pizza party and campfire, to an elegant four-star meal following. Just call with your ideas, and we'll help make it happen!
